Every skyscraper begins with an argument about the ground beneath it. Software, organizations, careers, and lives aren’t much different: we build upward using assumptions that feel permanent—until scale, pressure, or time reveals otherwise.
Skyscrapers on Sand is where I examine those assumptions. I write about engineering leadership, ad-tech, architecture, acquisitions, career uncertainty, and the occasional personal problem treated like a systems problem. These are field notes from inside the work: specific incidents, uncomfortable tradeoffs, and the lessons that become visible only after something shifts.
If you’re leading through ambiguity, building systems that have begun to outgrow their foundations, or trying to make sense of change without reducing it to a tidy framework, you’ll probably recognize something here. I’m less interested in presenting finished answers than in naming the fault lines clearly enough that we can build more deliberately on top of them.
